SVT Nyheter Skåne has in a number of articles and features reported that several adult Swedes who have been investigated at the ADHD clinic in Copenhagen, have had a bad experience after having been allowed to experiment with drug-classified medicine.

Many also testify that the clinic has not controlled their side effects.

- When inserting this type of medication, it must be followed up carefully how it affects the patient, says regional councilor Gilbert Tribo (L).

Procurement must shorten the queues

It is the long queues for psychiatry that make Swedes choose to go to Copenhagen to do an ADHD investigation.

The clinic can offer a first visit in just a few weeks.

- We have now made a large procurement to be able to graze the queues for psychiatry and get increased accessibility, says Gilbert Tribo.

How long will it take to get an ADHD investigation in Skåne?

- There is a care guarantee of 30 days for children and slightly longer for adults and that is how long it will take, says Gilbert Tribo.

According to Gilbert Tribo, it will take about a year before the queues have been shortened so much that the care guarantee can be reached.

"Accurate information"

The owners of the ADHD clinic do not want to be interviewed by SVT Nyheter Skåne, but write in an email that they follow the Danish guidelines for testing medication and that everyone who is put on trial medication receives accurate written and oral information.

"An important call is that you should always stop the medication immediately if you get annoying side effects," they write to SVT.
