It is the EU Bathing Water Directive that says that all bathing sites must have signs that show the water quality from measurements over the past four years.

At four of Kungsbacka's bathing areas, this means that the signs about the advice will remain in place throughout the summer, regardless of what future tests show.

Kungsbaka municipality now wants to be clear that the current bacterial levels are not as bad by putting up their own signs with the latest measurement values.

The municipality will test the bathing water again on 27 June, 18 July and 8 August.

This is what the municipality said about the dissuasion in May:

If you get a classification "poor bathing water quality", you must advise against bathing - see environmental inspector Josefine Bäckström explain the situation before the bathing season in Kungsbacka.
