The government and heads of subjects were instructed to reduce the area of ​​forest fires on the lands of the forest fund in 2022-2030 by at least 50% compared to the level of 2021.

The Cabinet of Ministers was also instructed to approve targets for the annual reduction in the area of ​​forest fires on forest fund lands for the period up to 2030.

Earlier, the head of Rosleskhoz, Ivan Sovetnikov, said that this summer the greatest fire risk is expected in Yakutia, as well as in the regions of the Far East and Siberia.

Deputy head of Rosleskhoz Alexei Venglinsky said that the number of fires in the regions of Siberia has doubled compared to last year, and the area covered by fire has increased by 5.6 times.
