The interview took place during the visit of the head of the DPR to the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

He answered the question of whether the DPR will become part of Russia or will remain a people's republic.

"But how does one contradict the other?"

Pushilin asked.

At the same time, when asked whether the DPR would become part of Russia as a separate entity, he answered in the affirmative.

Pushilin also stated that the name "Donetsk region" "sounds bad".

“Donetsk region even sounds bad, it takes us back to the past, the Ukrainian past.

It causes bad associations for us,” he said.

Earlier, Pushilin expressed confidence that the special military operation would end in a "complete victory" for the allied forces.
