During the meeting, the Chairman of the Dubai Media Council approved the launch of the Dubai Government Communication Program “DXB500”, with the aim of training 500 employees of media and government communication departments in the government and semi-government sectors in Dubai, where the “Dubai Government Media Office” will implement the program that was prepared according to the best International standards and practices in employing modern tools and techniques in the fields of editorial and social communication, in order to contribute to the delivery of media messages to the participating parties in the program in a more widespread and profound manner.

In addition, the law establishing the Dubai Media Council attached the Media Office of the Government of Dubai and the entities attached to it, and the Dubai Media Corporation, to the Council, as of the date of the law’s enforcement, provided that the attached entities retain their legal personality according to the legislation establishing them or regulating their work, and practice Its tasks and powers entrusted to it under these legislations, under the financial and strategic supervision of the Council, provided that these tasks and powers do not conflict with the powers of the Council.

Law No. (5) of 2022 empowers the Dubai Media Council to set the general media strategy for the Emirate of Dubai and the strategic plans for the media sector, which are compatible with the Emirate’s strategic plan, to supervise its implementation, to adopt the general vision and strategic framework through which media institutions in the emirate operate, and to supervise Achieving the council’s objectives, setting specialized performance indicators for media institutions, to enhance their competitiveness locally, regionally and globally, adopting the council’s strategic objectives, initiatives, projects, programmes, studies and recommendations related to the council’s work and activities, which are implemented by the entities that are attached to it.
