After being stolen from a temple in Tsushima City, Nagasaki Prefecture 10 years ago, the chief priest of a temple in Tsushima City tried in a trial in which a Korean temple claimed ownership and asked for delivery over a Buddha statue found in South Korea. I participated in the event for the first time and appealed for an early return.

After being stolen from Kanonji Temple in Tsushima City, Nagasaki Prefecture 10 years ago, the Buddha statue found in South Korea was taken over by Pseok Temple in central Korea as "it was looted by a lieutenant in the Middle Ages." He insists and is suing the Korean government, which keeps the Buddha statue, for delivery.

The court in Daejeon, Chubu, sentenced the court to order the delivery to Pseok Temple in the first trial, but the Korean government appealed and the chief priest Setsuryu Tanaka of Kannonji was in the trial of the second trial held on the 15th. I participated for the first time.

In court, Chief Abbot Tanaka said, "Kannonji has occupied the Buddha statue peacefully and openly, and we own the ownership in both Japanese and Korean civil law. The essence of the case of being stolen and illegally brought to Korea Based on this, I strongly hope that I will come back as soon as possible. "

The chief priest Tanaka also said that the Buddha statue was said to have been inherited from the Korean Peninsula in the 16th century, whereas the Pseok Temple side should show if there is evidence that the Buddha statue was legitimately passed. I asked.

After the trial, Abbot Tanaka told reporters, "I have said everything I want to say. It has already been 10 years, so I will ask for an early return."

The next trial will be held on August 17th.
