In the dispute over customs regulations for the British province of Northern Ireland, the EU Commission has initiated infringement proceedings against Great Britain.

London's actions violate international law and threaten peace in Northern Ireland, Commission Vice President Maros Sefcovic said on Wednesday. Prime Minister Boris Johnson's government presented a bill on Monday that would unilaterally change the provisions of the Northern Ireland Protocol agreed in the Brexit Treaty target.

London wants to force Brussels to reopen the agreement that was only agreed in 2019.

The EU Commission strictly excludes this.
