Lars-Olof "Zona" Franzén is a well-known profile in Alvesta municipality.

He was previously a Social Democrat, but after internal strife he was involved in starting the Alvesta Alternative in the summer of 1991.

Already the same autumn, they received enough votes to get into the municipal council.

Now they have been a part of local politics for 30 years.

Why do you think you have survived so long?

- We have been concrete in our policy and been on a factual level.

But above all, we have committed ourselves one hundred percent locally, says Lars-Olof Franzén (AA).

Although the party does not have a clear ideological profile, he believes that the people of Alvesta know what the party thinks.

To get their message out, they publish their own newspaper, among other things.

Active in other parties before

Is there no need for an ideology in municipal politics?

- We have the ideology that we should help each other and do something good together, that is what shapes our party and our ideas.

Among the party's representatives are people who have been active in several other parties before.

Both former Social Democrats like himself, but also a former Sweden Democrat.

How do you get people together who come from a lot of other parties from the beginning?

- It turns out pretty soon that they do not have the ideology of the parties they were part of from the beginning but that they have slipped in some other way, says Lars-Olof Franzén.
