The town halls of Saint-Chamas, Miramas and Fos-sur-Mer in Bouches-du-Rhône filed a complaint last May against X for non-compliance with regulations and illegal treatment of waste after the fire at the sorting center in the commune of Saint-Chamas earlier this year, their lawyers announced in a press release.

The blaze, which lasted more than a month, caused air pollution worthy of Beijing's, according to air quality watchdog Atmosud, angering residents and elected officials.
