“Treason will be considered going over to the side of the enemy in the context of an armed conflict, hostilities or other actions involving the use of weapons and military equipment, in which Russia takes part,” the statement on the State Duma website says.

For participation in an armed conflict or hostilities abroad against the interests of Russia, one can face up to twenty years in prison with a fine of up to 500 thousand rubles.

Earlier, the corresponding bill, according to which the transition to the side of the enemy during the hostilities will be treated as treason, was submitted to the State Duma.
