There has been some ambiguity regarding why traffic signs on highway 25 have been removed.

There have also been questions about whether the reconstruction of the new Fagrabäcks roundabout in Växjö, which the government gave the go-ahead for last year, has already started.

This is not the case, but both are measures on the part of the Swedish Transport Administration so that parts for a wind farm can be transported past Växjö.

- The existing environment is far too cramped for these transports.

Because they are so long, they need a large turning radius, says Carl-Henrik Bolte at the Swedish Transport Administration and continues:

- Among other things, you need to fill in certain ditches and remove road signs.

In some cases, lighting poles, road barriers and trees may also need to be removed.

Goes at night

132 transports with parts to a wind farm called Grönhult by Tranemo, just northwest of Gislaved, will go from Karlshamn harbor and through Växjö.

The longest part to be transported is 92 meters and the widest is six meters.

- The transports run at night, about three per night, so they do not disturb other traffic very much, says Bolte.

According to Carl-Henrik Bolte, it will not be rebuilt in more places in Växjö, Fagrabäcksrondellen is the only place.
