- If we are to manage this, the prerequisite is that we are able to produce new fossil-free electricity production, says Sandra Grauers Nilsson, head of Vattenfall's onshore wind power.

The four fossil-free industries in question are Hybrit, SSAB, LKAB and Vattenfall's investment in fossil-free steel production, H2 Green Steel's fossil-free steel production in Svartbyn outside Boden, LKAB's production of carbon dioxide-free iron sponge and Northvolt's battery factory in Skellefteå.

In total, they need 85 terawatt hours of electricity, which corresponds to just over half of the entire country's electricity consumption of 150 terrawatt hours.

"Time is short"

Even though Norrbotten and Västerbotten today have a surplus of about 20 terawatt hours, the needs will be 60-70 TWH.

- We have every opportunity to cope with this.

But time is short and we must effectively coordinate all interests that need to coexist, says Sandra Grauers Nilsson, head of Vattenfall's onshore wind power.

Wants to expand land-based wind power

According to her, it is the land-based wind power that must be expanded over the next ten years.

But nuclear power may also be needed to solve the great needs.

- We must enable all fossil-free technologies.

In the video, you hear Sandra Grauers Nilsson, Vattenfall's head of onshore wind power, about how to look at the enormous electricity needs.
