Ill-treatment of the population: the Russian Investigative Committee opened a criminal case after the shelling of Donetsk by the Armed Forces of Ukraine

The Investigative Committee of Russia opened a criminal case under the article on the ill-treatment of the civilian population and the use of prohibited means and methods in an armed conflict after the shelling of Donetsk by the Ukrainian military. 

The department clarified that on Monday, June 13, the Armed Forces of Ukraine opened fire several times from heavy weapons on civilian infrastructure facilities in the Budyonnovsky district of the city.

As a result of one of the attacks, on the territory of the Maisky market, three people were killed: a woman born in 1972, a man born in 1979 and a child born in 2011.

At least ten more civilians were injured, and nine houses were damaged.

In addition, the Investigative Committee opened two more criminal cases against four servicemen of the 24th separate mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, six servicemen of the 25th separate paratrooper brigade, two of the 30th separate mechanized brigade and three of the 56th separate motorized infantry brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine .

According to the investigation, from June 12 to June 13, all of them gave and executed orders for targeted artillery attacks from heavy weapons on civilian infrastructure in the cities of Donetsk, Gorlovka, Yasinovataya, Dokuchaevsk, Yenakiyevo and the village of Novodonetskoye (DPR), as well as in the city of Kremennaya and settlements of Privolye and Krinichnoye (LPR).

“As a result of the attacks, 12 civilians were injured, about 30 houses and civilian infrastructure facilities were damaged, including the building of a kindergarten,” the department stressed.

In turn, the DPR representative office at the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of the Ceasefire stated that the shelling of the Budyonnovsky district of Donetsk was carried out from the Uragan MLRS.

“According to the clarified data of military experts of the operational group of the DPR JCCC, the enemy fired at the Budyonnovsky district of Donetsk from their positions located in the area of ​​​​the Orlovskoye settlement, using the BM-27 Uragan MLRS, firing rockets with a high-explosive warhead 9M27F at a densely populated quarter of the city,” - the message says.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations of the DPR clarified that as a result of shelling in the market, six containers ignited, and firefighters managed to extinguish the fire.

Also, according to the representative office, the Voroshilovsky and Kyiv districts of Donetsk were fired from the Hurricanes of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

In addition, the ministry said that Ukrainian troops also fired 80 Grad missiles at Donetsk.

Later it became known about several more attacks on the territory of the city.

The head of the administration of the Kievsky district, Valentin Levchenko, said that four more people were injured as a result of a new shelling by Ukrainian troops.

The mayor of Donetsk, Aleksey Kulemzin, said that due to the shelling of the Kievsky district of the city by the Ukrainian military, a gas pipeline caught fire.

The fire department was also hit.

In the DPR, the shelling of Donetsk on June 13 was called the most powerful and longest during the conflict.

“We note that such an unprecedented in terms of power, density and duration of a fire raid on the capital of the DPR was not recorded during the entire period of the armed conflict,” the representative office of the Donetsk People’s Republic at the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of the Ceasefire Regime (JCCC) said.

Meanwhile, the Russian Ministry of Defense published footage of the combat work of the crews of the Smerch multiple launch rocket systems during the special operation.

The department said that, according to intelligence, units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine concentrated ammunition, military equipment and weapons in warehouses to supply their troops.

“The crews of the Smerch multiple launch rocket systems, having received the task of destroying the warehouses with weapons and ammunition, loaded the missiles and advanced to the firing position.

The servicemen made accurate calculations of the position of the target and carried out a salvo launch, ”the ministry said.

At the same time, RT correspondent Valentin Gorshenin showed footage of demining the coastline of Mariupol beach on Belosarayskaya Spit.

An engineering unit of the Novorossiysk naval base of the Black Sea Fleet and servicemen of the International Mine Action Center of the RF Armed Forces are working on the spot.

It is noted that about 2 thousand explosive objects have already been found and neutralized.

Meanwhile, the head of the military-civilian administration of the Zaporozhye region, Yevgeny Balitsky, said that specialists had restored the normal supply of electricity in Berdyansk after the substation was blown up.

Recall, in addition, earlier, an explosive device went off near the building of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Melitopol.

Vladimir Rogov, a member of the main council of the military-civilian administration of the Zaporozhye region, said that the Ukrainian special services changed tactics in the region, moving from rocket attacks on the region to terrorism against the population.
