It was shortly after lunch on May 12 that the police were alerted to a port in Oxelösund.

Passers-by had discovered something resembling a human body in the water.

It turned out to be about several body parts in the water and now a forensic genetic examination has been able to establish that the body belonged to a man in his 80s.

According to Camilla Trollström Tholerud, who is the death officer at Nyköping Police, the man's relatives have been notified.

- He was reported missing last winter and was a resident of our police area, she says, and continues:

- We do not suspect any crime at present, but we have not yet received a final report from the forensic doctor.
