Emmanuel Macron invited, Tuesday, June 14, the voters to give him "a solid majority" during the second round of the legislative elections, Sunday, calling for "a republican jump" in the face of the risk of "disorder".

The head of state was speaking at Orly airport, near Paris, before leaving for Romania.

A solemn speech added late to his agenda as the executive worries about a possible majority in the National Assembly on Sunday after the second round of legislative elections.

The presidential bloc brandishes the threat of an unstable lower house handed over to the troops of Nupes, a left-wing alliance led by Jean-Luc Mélenchon, who has not given up on imposing cohabitation on the head of state, even if the projections in seats of polling institutes rule out this perspective.

A national "disorder"

Emmanuel Macron said he measured the "doubts", "anxieties", "fears", "concerns", "difficulties" expressed during the first round of the legislative elections, marked by a record abstention of 52.49%.

He felt that "the coming months" would be "difficult", referring in particular to the soaring cost of living.

"I respect every voice, every sensitivity," he said on the airport tarmac.

But, he developed in a now well-honed argument, "in the face of the crises that are sure to arise, nothing would be worse than losing ourselves in immobility, in blockages, in postures."

He said he feared a national "disorder".

"On the contrary, we need to invest to build a future without oil, without gas, without coal, and therefore without carbon, to make France the country of technologies of 2030, to invest to transform our public services, our school, our health, and finally keep the republican promise of social ascent," he said.

"For that, we need a solid majority to guarantee our independence. This independence, we will not achieve it through more taxes, nor more debts, nor through decline", he continued, targeting the economic program of the New People's Union, ecological and social.

"We will do it through work, work all, by achieving the full employment that is within reach. Work better, by improving wages and working conditions, work more to gain through our collective effort in economic strength", has he hammered.

"We are at the time of choices and the big choices are never made by abstention. I therefore appeal to your common sense and to the Republican start. Neither abstention, nor confusion but clarification", declared Emmanuel Macron.

"On Sunday, no voice must be missing from the Republic. On Sunday, I am counting on you to give our country a solid majority in order to face all the challenges of the time and to build hope", he said. he concluded.
