The National Police has arrested a man in Parla (Madrid) accused of robbing 19 elderly people using the method of the
mataleón
.
He selected his victims outside the bank and followed them to the front door of his house,
where he strangled them from behind.
He assaulted men and women indistinctly, but all of them were elderly, between 70 and 90 years old, and without the possibility of defense against such a surprising and violent maneuver.
His violence was extreme, since several of the people have ended up in the hospital, one of them in the ICU.
The judge has already ordered his entry into prison.
The investigation began last February
after detecting an increase in the commission of robberies with violence in the municipality of Parla using the
"machaléon"
method , consisting of surprising the victim from behind, surrounding her with her arm, pressing her carotids until render her unconscious.
Once he was on the ground, this man took the opportunity to steal his belongings, mainly jewelry, mobile phones and cash.
The police investigations managed to identify the person presumed responsible for the robberies with violence, which coincided with the one investigated for another robbery that occurred in the Madrid district of Usera.
After coordinating both investigations, a
device was designed to locate and arrest this man,
who had no known address and habitually used a sanitary mask and even wigs to make it difficult to identify him.

after reinforcing the police presence in those areas where he could move, he was located and his arrest was made
.
The arrested person
has been handed over to the judicial authority
as the alleged perpetrator of 19 robberies with violence, who has determined his entry into prison.
