As a result of the final meeting of the Presidential Office Name Committee to deliberate and select a new name for the Office of the President on the afternoon of the 14th, spokesman Kang In-seon said at a briefing, "We have decided not to recommend a new name for the Office."

Accordingly, the President's Office will be renamed 'Yongsan Presidential Office' instead of the new name.

Spokesperson Kang explained, "As a result of the online preference survey, none of the five nominations received a majority of the votes, and considering the negative public opinion on each name, all five candidates agreed that it would be difficult to form a national consensus."

A public competition was held to decide on a new name, but it seems to be due to the judgment that the weight of the candidates is lower compared to the existing name of the Blue House.

Previously, the Presidential Office Name Committee decided five candidates, including People's House, People's Government Complex, Mineum Government Complex, Barunnuri, and Itaewon-ro 22, through a public contest and conducted an online preference survey of the public.
