At SJ, there is a risk that departures need to be canceled if the schedule cannot be solved.

To solve the situation, SJ has issued offers for extra compensation for staff who go in and work on days off.

- At the moment, we can not answer how many departures there may be.

The vast majority of trains will run according to schedule, but we have a need for staff this summer that we can not meet right now, says Martina Nord, press communicator at SJ.

Extra compensation

Both SJ and Arriva offer employees an extra monthly salary if you take the majority of your holiday at a different time of year than the high summer.

MTR Commuter trains and MTRX offer an extra monthly salary plus an extra bonus if you move the holiday, writes Sekotidningen.

- We are waiting for an answer and see how much response we get to this, we have fantastic staff who do everything they can to solve this, says Martina Nord.

During the pandemic when travel was reduced, SJ paused all new recruitment, now it is up and running again with some lag.

SJ urges all travelers to provide correct contact information so that the information about canceled and rebooked departures is forthcoming.

- We are facing some uncertainties this summer.

What you can do as a traveler is to keep in mind that if a departure is canceled, it does not always mean that the trip is canceled - we work on assembling the train set, you arrive but with a later departure, says Martina Nord.
