Seriously injured, this resident of Saint-Michel-de-Maurienne, a nearby town, was taken care of by the Smur and the firefighters.
Given the seriousness of his condition, he was evacuated aboard the Modane gendarmerie helicopter to a hospital in Grenoble.
Still hospitalized on Saturday, he could not be heard by the gendarmes.
An open investigation
The victim's injuries suggest it was an assault, not an accident.
An investigation has been opened by the gendarmerie to determine the circumstances of the facts, which remain, for the time being, unknown.
