A figure from the ultra-right Lyonnaise was placed in police custody, overnight from Thursday to Friday, for acts of violence with a weapon in Lyon, we learned on Saturday from a judicial source.

This was denounced by the candidate Nupes of the Raphaël Arnault constituency.

The alleged perpetrator is a former member of Génération identitaire, an association dissolved in March 2021, which notably made headlines in the spring of 2018 by leading anti-migrant patrols in the Alps.

He is in police custody for "violence with a weapon to the detriment of two victims" and "violence on a person holding public authority", indicates the Lyon prosecutor's office, in confirmation of information from the newspaper

On his Twitter account, Raphaël Arnault denounced a "racist knife attack by one of the identity leaders", publishing a photo of one of the two alleged victims, injured in the neck.
