China News Service, June 11. According to Reuters, on the 11th local time, European Commission President von der Leyen arrived in Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine, and will discuss with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky the application to join the European Union.

  Von der Leyen reportedly said on his social media after arriving in Kyiv, "I will assess with President Zelensky the joint work required for reconstruction and the progress Ukraine has made on its (joining) EU path."

  Earlier, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Kuleba said on the 8th that Ukraine would not accept any alternative to becoming a candidate for the European Union.

  Zelensky signed the document applying to join the European Union in February.

On May 9, Zelensky announced that the Uzbek side had submitted the text of the second part of the questionnaire on the application for EU candidate status.

The EU said it would draw conclusions on the content of the questionnaire in June.
