“Today, the active part of the trajectory of the new missile system is 1.5 times lower than, say, that of the Voevoda missile system,” RIA Novosti quoted Karakaev as saying on the Rossiya 24 TV channel.

According to him, the shorter the active section of the trajectory, the better the security of the missile system.

He noted that the Sarmat will be equipped with Avangard warheads, among other things.

Earlier, Roskosmos CEO Dmitry Rogozin said that about 50 Sarmat ICBMs would soon be placed on combat duty in Russia.

According to him, this may happen at the end of autumn.
