11 soldiers killed in terrorist attack in northern Burkina Faso

Eleven soldiers were killed in Burkina Faso as a result of a terrorist attack in the Sinoe province in the north of the country.

The army stated - in a statement today - that the attack carried out by a large number of militants affiliated with extremist movements on the Setanga area in the state of Sinoe killed 11 soldiers and a number of militants were killed.

The authorities in Burkina Faso announced last month that at least 50 civilians were killed in an attack carried out by unidentified gunmen in the east of the country.
