China News Agency, Los Angeles, June 10 (Reporter Zhang Shuo) A small plane crashed in Oxnard, Ventura County, southern California, on the 10th, killing the pilot.

  According to news from the U.S. media such as the Ventura County Fire Department and the Los Angeles Times, at 7:59 a.m. local time on the 10th, a single-engine four-seater small plane took off from Camarillo Airport and was soon in Ventura at around 8:00. The crash occurred near Del Norte Avenue and Highway 101 in Oxnard, LA.

Air traffic flight tracking service FlightAware showed it was a Mooney M-20 Turbo on its way to Phoenix, Arizona.

  According to reports, the crashed plane first hit a building on the south side of Highway 101 and then crashed in a nearby strawberry field.

The plane was engulfed in flames after the crash.

Firefighters from Ventura County and Oxnard rushed to the scene and put out the fire about half an hour later.

The pilot was killed in the accident and the cause of the crash is under investigation.

Firefighters did a grid search of the area and found no other casualties, but found scattered aircraft debris on the roof of a nearby building.

  This is the second small plane crash in Southern California in the past four days.

  At about 9:35 a.m. local time on June 7, a small plane crashed in the backyard of a home in Hemet, California's southern Riverside County.

The wreckage of the plane caught fire and the pilot was seriously injured.

The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the cause of the accident.
