From the modern terraced house gravel garden in the big city, natural allotment gardens and the terrace of an attic apartment to the Mediterranean garden on the Rhine to the natural garden in the Odenwald: All of them and more are part of the repertoire of the Open Garden Gate Hesse, which will be held this Saturday and Sunday after two years Corona compulsory break takes place again in nature.

Owners of more than 60 private gardens, more than 40 of them in the Rhine-Main area, will open their gates and let visitors in this Saturday, June 11, from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. and again on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m To show those interested in gardening and collectors of ideas their very different green paradises.

These include gardens that have regularly provided a glimpse of plants and garden design enthusiasts in the past.

This time, however, there are also eleven gardens that are not yet known to the public.

For the organizers, this is proof that it is not only attractive to take a look at someone else's garden, but also to present your own garden.

As in the past, visitors are asked to pay a fee of two euros per person when visiting a garden in the collection boxes set up there.

The contribution goes to the organizers of the event, who are now also producing an information brochure in which all participating gardens are presented.

This brochure is available in all open gardens at the weekend.

The Open Garden Gate Hesse event was initiated by the three green professional associations: the Association of German Landscape Architects Hesse, the Hessian Association for Garden, Landscape and Sports Field Construction and the German Society for Garden Art and Landscape Culture Hesse Rhein-Main (DGGL).

Originally, they followed the successful example in other countries.

This year the event will be held for the 19th time.

The number of visitors over the years is not known, but it is known that more than 170 gardens in Hesse have opened their garden gates to those who are interested.

The complete overview of the participating gardens can be viewed at www.offene-gartenpforte-hessen.de.
