The money in the account is enough for less and less - when the prices of, among other things, food and fuel soar.

The high inflation has not only affected Swedes, but large parts of the world's population.

According to Robert Bergqvist, senior economist at the major bank SEB, the reason for global inflation is the comprehensive support packages during the pandemic.

- Seen in the rearview mirror, it was a bit too much, it came out too fast and it created a very strong demand, he says.

"Nightmare for the United States"

One of the worst affected countries is the United States, where inflation is the highest since the 1980s.

- This is a nightmare for the United States and many other countries.

It will be a political problem, now inflation is eating away at the wallets and purchasing power is disappearing, says Robert Bergqvist.

The high inflation in the US is partly due to high wage growth, says Bergqvist.

Sweden is also affected by the situation in the United States, due to exports to the country.

- We share the American headache.
