Police operation in the center of Barcelona.

The Mossos d'Esquadra have freed a kidnapped person in a hotel room between Gran Vía and Paseo de Gràcia after receiving an emergency call.

The agents have entered the room and have reduced one of the captors, although they have vacated the hotel to search for two other suspects, who would be of South American origin.

Police had found the hostage bound and gagged and one of his armed captors, according to La Vanguardia.

The Mossos Mobile Brigade has cordoned off the area as they searched room by room for the other suspects.

The victim, of Colombian origin, was taken to the police station to declare and present the complaint.

At around 11 p.m. the agents left after verifying that there were no more involved in the establishment.

The guests were able to return to the hotel.

According to the first investigations, it would be a settlement of accounts for a debt related to illicit businesses.
