Four-year-old Prince Louis stole the spotlight on the final day of celebrations marking the 70th anniversary of his grandmother Queen Elizabeth's accession to the British throne, as he was photographed with a funny expression on his face.

He was seen waving his fingers at his mother, Kate Middleton, before putting his hand over his mouth, apparently prompting his mother to discipline her son, but silently.

Princess Charlotte, seven, was seen scolding her younger brother during the celebration, after his mother had gone to great lengths to make him behave appropriately for the occasion.

During the celebration, Louis seemed to inadvertently steal the spotlight from the rest of his royal family.

A video clip that went viral on social media shows Lewis putting his finger inside his mouth before Charlotte shoves his hand away from his face.

Apparently she admonished him before turning around to properly sit in her seat.

Unfortunately, his sister's efforts to dissuade him from his actions were not successful, as he quickly returned to making hand gestures and changing his facial expressions in a funny way.

Of course, this is not the first time that Princess Charlotte has intervened to control the behavior of Prince Louis or their older brother, eight-year-old Prince George. She corrected George as they participated in the celebration from the balcony of Buckingham Palace.

The Thursday before the occasion, Charlotte was prevented from waving to the crowd as they passed in a carriage with their mother, brother Prince George and their great-grandfather Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, during a parade of troops.

Louis' facial expressions went viral, and photos of him screaming and covering his ears next to the Queen have inspired numerous memes that have taken over the internet.

Many commentators noted that Lewis' behavior was completely normal for a four-year-old, noting that he had been sitting for a long time during the event.

One commented: "It was too long for a four-year-old to sit still."

"I think his mother managed him very well, and it was nice to see him sitting in the lap of his grandfather, Prince Charles, and they clearly have a very close relationship."

Another wrote: "Can you believe it, a royal four-year-old behaving like a normal four-year-old, I always feel bad for these when their little ones act like this in public and try to give them a smile of solidarity."

One of the commentators justified Prince Louis' behavior by saying: "I am not surprised that he was bored and restless, the session was very long and boring at times, and children at the age of four could not stand sitting for hours without making a fuss or any unusual behaviour."

Others praised the Duchess, with one mum writing: "Well done Kate, you deserve a day to rest in bed tomorrow."

Another added: "What we really understood this week is that Kate takes on a lot of parenting responsibilities, doesn't leave everything to the nanny, seems confident and knows what works with kids, when they're out in public."

Princess Charlotte intervened more than once to control the behavior of Prince Louis or their older brother, Prince George, who is eight years old.
