“The window is open, and there is a fan, but this does not help, especially if there are two people smoking in the cell and the hood is turned off,” a commission member who visited the isolation ward quoted Safronov as saying.

The representative of the POC also said that the quarantine regime has been significantly relaxed in Lefortovo.

“Short-term visits are allowed, but for this, relatives of prisoners must present a certificate of vaccination against COVID-19, and the vaccination must be done no later than 6 months before the date of the meeting,” RT’s interlocutor informed.

He also added that members of the PMC for the first time in two years since the introduction of anti-epidemiological restrictions conducted a cell-by-cell tour of Lefortovo.

“At the same time, we were convinced that the information circulated in the media that the windows in the pre-trial detention center were allegedly painted over with paint do not correspond to reality - there are simply frosted glasses,” the PMC member concluded.

Earlier, the PMC spoke about the conditions of detention in the Moscow prison hospital.
