“In the next few days, we intend to announce the allocation of more than $645 million in assistance to combat food security problems in the region, as well as to strengthen the ability of these countries to withstand natural disasters and the historic flow of migrants and refugees,” RIA Novosti quotes the American leader. 

He also expressed confidence that the problem of migration flows concerns all countries of North and South America.

“In my opinion, our common responsibility is to face this challenge,” he concluded.

Earlier, Biden informed that the United States plans to launch an initiative with a number of countries to increase the production of food and fertilizers. 

Before that, the White House said that Biden allowed the easing of sanctions against Venezuela.

In addition, the US Treasury Department has made several exceptions to the sanctions previously imposed against Cuba.
