His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, directed the generalization of the Quality Mark for a supportive work environment for parents, launched by the Abu Dhabi Early Childhood Authority, to all institutions in the country, opening the door for participation to them, and expanding the application of practices and policies supporting parents within various work environments. Being an essential part of the positive and constructive institutional culture and a step towards consolidating a deep-rooted societal culture that focuses on supporting children and safeguarding all their rights.

His Highness urged, during his honor, yesterday, the institutions that obtained the Quality Mark for a supportive work environment for parents, in their first session, in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, representative of the ruler in the Al Dhafra region, and His Highness Sheikh Theyab bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chief of the Crown Prince's Court Abu Dhabi, the Chairman of the authority, entrusted the honorable institutions to continue to follow the best practices that reflect positively on the child to maintain the mark and rise to a higher level.

The initiative targets institutions operating in the semi-governmental, private and third sectors in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, to encourage them to adopt supportive work practices and policies for working parents, and to enable them to enhance the quality of care provided to their children to support their growth and development, and to achieve a balance between work and family.

His Highness, the President of the State, during the honoring that took place at Al Bahr Palace, welcomed the participation of the award-winning institutions in the first cycle of the initiative.. His Highness pointed out the importance of the institutions’ contribution and role in supporting efforts aimed at educating young people, preparing them and empowering them to ensure their growth and prosperity and creating the appropriate environment to meet their requirements. In order to strengthen the community partnership between the various sectors and advance their contributions to advancing the process of community development, empowering children, and preparing them for the future, which the state pursues as part of its national strategy for the next 50 years.

For his part, His Highness Sheikh Theyab bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan stressed that a supportive work environment for working parents enhances their ability to effectively contribute to enhancing the emotional, cognitive and behavioral development of their children during the pivotal years in their lives and strengthen social and family ties by balancing work and personal life. In addition to encouraging employees to increase participation and productivity and enhance their well-being and happiness, in addition to enhancing the organization's ability to attract competencies and expertise and improve the quality of work outputs, thus promoting the growth of the institution.

His Highness added that the initiative will contribute to reducing the gap between the public and private sectors with regard to work policies and benefits provided to parents, and enhance the attractiveness of work in the semi-governmental and private sectors for citizens, as well as its role in shaping the features of a brighter and more prosperous economic future, and consolidating Abu Dhabi's position as a child-friendly city, by By encouraging institutions to adopt a culture of innovation in the work environment and creating innovative future work environments that take into account various developmental aspects, especially those related to child development and support to reach their maximum potential.

The institutions that were honored for obtaining the Quality Mark for a supportive work environment for parenthood included the innovative policies and practices they adopt that support working parents and take into account their obligations towards their children.. Six institutions are HSBC Bank, Masdar Company and Emirates Nature Association. Abu Dhabi Motorsports Management Company, Etihad Airways and Salal Company.

It is noteworthy that the first cycle of the “Quality Mark Initiative for a Supportive Work Environment for Parents 2022-2024” targeted more than 70 national institutions and conducted a study and audit of the applications to ensure that they meet the criteria and conditions for obtaining the mark at its first and second levels (a work environment that supports parents, and a work environment that supports parents plus). An independent committee evaluated the applications to ensure transparency and impartiality, leading to the award of the mark to six institutions.

The first cycle of the initiative also contributed positively to the lives of more than 6,600 children, and reached more than 20,000 employees who work in the participating institutions.
