The young man hit by a two-wheeler on Sunday evening during an urban rodeo in Rennes died in hospital, said public prosecutor Philippe Astruc.
He had been transported in very serious condition on Sunday evening after being knocked down in Beaulieu by a motocross bike driven by an 18-year-old man he knew.
On the handlebars of the two-wheeler was a 6-year-old child, also injured, but who was able to leave the hospital.
Placed in police custody, the motocross driver was also hospitalized.
According to the Rennes prosecutor's office, his police custody had to be lifted "being no longer compatible with his state of health".
Heard under the qualifications of motorized rodeo, involuntary injuries with ITT of less than three months and lack of control, the respondent could also be prosecuted for manslaughter.
Domiciled in Rennes, he is already known to the courts.
The dirt bike has not been found.
“She was moved and taken away by friends of the respondent and the victim,” explained the public prosecutor earlier.
