A Guadeloupean in his thirties, who lives in Saint-Etienne, was kidnapped on May 29 from his home to be sequestered in Givors (Rhône) then taken to the Paris region in exchange for a ransom of 100,000 euros, learns -on the parquet floor of Saint-Etienne.

The three kidnappers, also of Caribbean origin, were arrested near Paris and imprisoned, indicates David Charmatz, public prosecutor of Saint-Etienne.

They would have acted on the background of drug trafficking.

It was, according to the thugs, a "fine", linked to a transaction involving a kilo of cocaine which would have gone wrong.

The victim and his kidnappers known to the police

The victim, known in the middle of drug trafficking, was released by the Research and Intervention Brigade (BRI), in the middle of the night, on June 1, in an apartment in Epinay-sur-Seine, in Seine- Saint-Denis, where she was tied up and covered in bruises.

Three days earlier, his captors had managed to steal the keys to his apartment by threatening his girlfriend.

They then entered his home to extricate him by force, in particular by pointing a dummy weapon at him.

Gagged, the man was taken to a wood where he was tied to a tree before being beaten and shocked.

The next day, he was taken to a third party in Givors and then transferred to Seine-Saint-Denis, where his ordeal continued.

The police were contacted by the family from whom the three kidnappers demanded the ransom.

“The kidnappers, aged 27 to 35, were indicted at the end of last week for kidnapping and forcible confinement, extortion and attempted extortion of funds in an organized gang with a weapon”, adds the public prosecutor.
