grow into your best self

  Yang Liwei

Today, I am very happy to have the opportunity to chat with the children.

Because children always remind me of the warmest words such as "simple", "sincere", "beautiful" and "hope".

When I want to share something with my children, I think of my own childhood first.

Children may think that Uncle Yang Liwei must be a brave man after going into space.

But actually, when I was very young, I was very shy and timid.

During Chinese New Year, when firecrackers are set off outside, I would hide under the table in fright.

When my father met, he began to take me to mountain climbing, swimming in rivers, and climbing trees and picking fruits in the wild.

Gradually, I became interested in outdoor sports and loved to play with my friends.

Of my childhood games, I liked ice skating and swimming the most, I played them well, and they still have an impact on me to this day.

Looking back, my father was deliberately training me, shaping my character, and strengthening my physique.

I think these upbringings have laid a solid foundation for my body, mind, and behavior.

I became fond of being close to nature, curious about the unknown, and developed a habit of daring to act and try.

Even in a variety of games and sports, I have exercised good body balance and learned how to protect myself.

When I was young, people's living standards were not high, and children could only touch some comic strips and watch movies in the open air.

It was through these channels that I watched many revolutionary feature films such as "Railway Guerrilla", "The Sparkling Red Star", "Little Soldier Zhang Ga", and my heart was greatly touched.

The legendary stories of those protagonists make me yearn endlessly.

Especially "Railway Guerrilla", I have watched it many times, and the captain Liu Hong is one of my favorite hero characters.

I vividly remember that when I was a child, I stood by the railroad tracks with my friends and watched the train slowly pass by. I thought to myself, how amazing it would be if one day I could drive this behemoth and roar all the way to the distance. !

There is a naval airfield in my hometown, not far from my home.

Back then, our school and the army were engaged in military-civilian joint construction activities, and we arranged a small program to perform at the airport, called "Little Pilots".

I was wearing a little aviator costume and had a role in it.

After the show, we were arranged to go to the airport to watch the flight.

I saw the silver plane rise into the sky, glistening in the sun, and I saw the pilots wearing flight suits and caps, walking down from the plane, full of energy, with both admiration and envy in their hearts.

Since then, the sky above the airport has been a place of particular interest and fascination for me.

I often stand at the door of my house, looking up at the sky at the airport, and I don't feel tired after watching it for a long time.

There are often planes flying by and pilots practicing skydiving.

When the pilot was parachuting, the snow-white parachute drifted slowly, and my heart slowly drifted along with it.

Where did it fall?

Where did the umbrella fall?

I feel like my heart is taken away by the plane and the blue sky.

In this way, my train driver dream slowly turned into a pilot's dream, and I ran after this dream all my life: first to be an Air Force pilot, and then to be an astronaut.

The happiest thing for me is that I have combined my dreams and hobbies with the cause of the country and the nation. For me, I am so lucky.

The training of astronauts is very difficult and often faces difficulties and setbacks.

Sometimes, after a long period of hard work but not achieving the desired results, I will also be discouraged and sad.

However, I won't let this emotion stay in my heart for too long, and I will soon clear my mood and continue to train.

After experiencing difficulties and setbacks again and again, I have found a rule: when something persists to the point of being unable to persist, it is actually close to success.

Dear children, there are always various difficulties in life, some small and some big.

However, these difficulties are not at all scary.

When a person bravely faces difficulties, understands them seriously, and tries his best to overcome them, he actually steps on these difficulties, and he moves towards success step by step, and he approaches his dream step by step.

So, what is the difficulty?

Difficulty is the ladder to success, the help that pushes us to realize our dreams.

A person's childhood experiences are the cornerstone of his life. How he will go in his later life can generally find the source in his childhood life.

What hobbies and ideals he cultivated when he was a child will have a subtle influence on his life.

If there is a chance when he grows up, he will go to work related to it, and gain happiness and a sense of accomplishment from it.

I sincerely hope that the children will study hard, grow up happily, cultivate their interest in exploring the unknown world, exercise their courage to challenge difficulties and setbacks, and grow into the best version of themselves. Let’s work together to build our motherland!

 Explore with curiosity

  Shi Yigong

I was born in the 1960s, a scientist and a university teacher.

Usually, I often chat with college students, but it is the first time in my life that I mention the pen to chat with the children.

As Mr. Bing Xin said in "Sending Little Readers": "I used to be a child, and I am still a child sometimes."

When I was a child, I always looked forward to growing up, and when I grow up, I will be particularly nostalgic when I recall the innocent childhood.

My childhood was spent in the central and southern part of Henan Province, from Xiaoguozhuang by the Suya Lake in Runan County to the Nine and Tenth Primary Schools in Zhumadian Town.

Compared to now, when supplies were scarce and there was very little meat to eat, even on my birthday, my mother just quietly stuffed me a boiled egg to celebrate.

Although I was naughty and often got into trouble, I was inevitably punished and beaten, but my childhood memories are full of good memories: blue sky and white clouds, green fields and clear streams, delicious roasted sweet potatoes, hot and spicy soup on the street, free open-air movies on summer nights , as well as all kinds of toys that you make yourself with yellow glue...

At that time, I liked playing and drawing the most, and felt very mysterious about science.

In 1977, when I was in the fourth grade of elementary school, every day when I came home from school, I often saw my father using a branch as a pen, explaining mathematics and deducing formulas to my cousins on the ground.

Although I don’t understand it, I think it’s cool, and I’m especially willing to stand by and listen to the quadratic equation in one variable, pi, and X, Y, Z… I have a vague feeling that the miracle of the modern world is brought about by science. of.

I remember seeing a question in a little book "One Hundred Questions of Interesting Mathematics" that my father gave me: Suppose the earth is an ideal sphere, and an inextensible belt is tightly tied around the equator. If the belt is extended by ten Rice, evenly distributed, can the rabbit get under the straps?

The answer is: not only rabbits, but adults can walk over with their heads down!

I didn't expect the answer to be the exact opposite of what I felt intuitively.

These inadvertent little cases, like scientific enlightenment, helped me open the door to a whole new world, and also subtly determined the direction of my future life.

Before I knew it, I graduated from high school, went to university, went abroad to study for a doctorate, and then became a university professor.

For the past twenty-five years, I have owned my own scientific research laboratory and have been at the forefront of world knowledge exploration.

The breakthrough of each research topic means that human's cognition of nature has been improved a little bit, and the research progress of these groups of scientists, together, is the process of human exploration of nature.

As a Chinese, through my own efforts, I can make a unique contribution to the world. My scientific discoveries can be written into textbooks and left to later young people to learn as knowledge.

Just being aware of this makes me so motivated enough to face any challenges and setbacks in scientific research and even in life!

The most important source of scientific research is curiosity, and one of the most critical factors in achieving research breakthroughs is imagination.

Curiosity and imagination are by no means unique to any one person, but are inherent in every child.

The great scientist Albert Einstein once said: "I don't have any special talents, but I like to get to the bottom of the problem." Children can proudly tell their parents that the most creative scientists are often those who have not lost their innocence. !

It should be one of the goals that teachers in kindergartens, primary schools and middle schools strive to keep and develop in the process of growing up.

This is getting the attention, understanding and support of the whole society.

Children, this is an exciting and challenging time, and the grand picture of China's future is slowly unfolding before us.

At the same time, the universe is so big and the earth is so small. Although human beings have advanced science and technology and created brilliant civilization achievements, our knowledge of the world around us is still very limited.

From the mysteries of the universe to the magic of life, there are too many unknowns waiting for children to explore in the future.

In today's science and technology arena, there are still some areas where our skills are inferior to others, and we need children to catch up and surpass them in the future.

I hope that the children will study hard, keep exercising, absorb the wisdom of the sages from books, feel the beauty of the world from nature, and have both a smart mind and a healthy body.

More importantly, always maintain curiosity and imagination, explore unrestrainedly, imaginatively, and maximize your potential.

Cherish the light of childhood

  Jinbo

I remembered that many years ago, once on Children's Day, the principal took us to the county seat to plant trees.

Many years have passed, and now every Children's Day, my heart is surging with concern for that tree: how does it look now?

In my mind, that tree is like a counterpart to Children's Day—my Children's Day should be well-rooted too.

One year, when I was reading an old book, I inadvertently turned to a page, and there was a small painting.

I immediately remembered: that year, the youngest daughter celebrated Children's Day and joined the Young Pioneers. This is the painting she gave me.

I remember that day, she painted a large batch of these small paintings and distributed them to many people.

Those paintings are depictions of her childhood memories, and are also stored in the memories of her relatives and friends.

Now, I don't know if she still remembers?

I have entered my old age.

However, every Children's Day, I still regard this day as my holiday.

Every year I celebrate Children's Day, and I have already celebrated more than 80 Children's Days.

Even if I'm no longer a child, that's my holiday.

At this time, others often use "the innocence is not lost, return to childhood" to bless me.

I also always have to write a few messages and blessings to the children.

I once wrote: "Writing for children, gilding every word with sunshine." This is my request for myself, and it is also a little wish I want to express to the children.

I am willing to create more sunshine for children through my pen.

  I love children.

Loving children is my belief.

I looked at the children and saw not only the flowers but also the gardens.

The flowers, the trees, the birds chirping, the butterflies flying, the breeze blowing, the sun shining, the children's singing, and the children's running are the greatest joys to me.

To love children, we must learn to nurture their childhood.

Childhood is a part of our life, and childhood is also a page in our history that can illuminate the future.

Raising children's childhood, we must respect the nature of children.

Children are full of curiosity in the face of everything; children are full of freshness for beauty.

We want to create all favorable conditions for children.

In our small home, we want to create an environment with the fragrance of books and ink for the children, so that they can learn to cherish the beauty in life, enjoy the fun of reading, and inherit the excellent traditional culture.

I can't take my eyes off the children when they read: the children read landscape descriptions and psychological descriptions very patiently, they are appreciating beauty, and they begin to understand how to care about the fate of people.

Children have light in their childhood.

In children's lives, every bit of kindness is a meaningful ritual in growing up.

When children learn to say "thank you" for the first time and accept "thank you" for the first time, it is the light of childhood; when children take the initiative to help the elderly to cross the zebra crossing, when the children volunteer to help up the little brother who has fallen When I was a little sister, it was the light of childhood.

  I value my children's childhood--

  The expression intoxicated by listening to the music and watching the art exhibition;

  Laughing out loud for overcoming setbacks;

  weeping for sympathy;

  Gaze in thought;

The children overcame their timidity and signed up for the speech contest; the children were full of pride when they became flag bearers for the first time...

These are the light of childhood.

In every family, children are the most worrying people.

Children are the closest to us, and also the "distant" of our future.

Children are small saplings we cultivate, but in the future, they will be integrated into a big forest.

May the children's childhood be full of light.
