• The big Lille sale has been canceled for the past two years due to Covid-19.

  • The event is scheduled to return to normal mode on September 3 and 4, 2022.

  • Pitch reservations are open to individuals this Tuesday.

After two years of scarcity due to Covid-19, the Lille clearance sale should make its big comeback on the first weekend of September 2022. In any case, this is the state of mind to date on the side of the town hall, organizer of the event.

Moreover, pitch reservations for individuals opened on Tuesday morning.

It is not in degraded mode, as has been the case in particular for the past two years, that the largest garage sale in Europe will be held in Lille, from September 3, 8 a.m. to September 4, 6 p.m.

The perimeter defined by the city is the same as in 2019, concentrated in the center, old Lille and as far as Wazemmes via rue Gambetta.

Brocanters and antique dealers will essentially be grouped together on a “china axis” comprising boulevards Louis XIV, Liberté, avenue Kennedy and the facade of the Esplanade.

We can no longer sell everything and anything there

Individuals and sedentary traders will therefore be able to share the rest of the sale sector.

If the pitches are free for Lille residents, they must still check if they can do so in front of their home.

Then, to reserve a location, they must go to the Resabraderie.lille.fr site from this Tuesday until August 24.

During the last editions, the municipality had started to clean up among the applicants for a clearance sale stand.

To “rediscover the soul of the sale”, as Martine Aubry had said, you can no longer sell everything and anything there.

Forget the barbecue to make a little profit with merguez sausages, the sale of food is exclusively reserved for restaurateurs, food shops, food-trucks and itinerant chip shops.

Small subtlety for the latter: "sedentary and non-sedentary merchants can only sell the products of their usual activity".

In other words, no mussels and fries in a poutine restaurant or a pizzeria…

The city also recalls that a clearance sale is made to sell flea markets, antiques, second-hand.

Only “sedentary street professionals authorized to sell” can sell new items.

You know almost everything, so see you in three months.
