Malin Öhberg and Peder Engström run Sörbyn's farm hops and blacknose in Hortlax outside Piteå.

On Monday, they opened up to the public to visit the farm and all the animals.

Surprised by the interest

But those who drew the most were the sweet Welsh black-nosed sheep.

The queue wound long to get into the pasture and meet the ewes and lambs Nord, Idun and Odd.

- This is great fun that people want to come here and watch and to see children running around, riding horses and feeding the rabbits, says Malin Öhberg.

Neither Malin nor Peder had expected so many visitors.

- We did not think that there would be so many people.

We guessed at a maximum of twenty families, says Malin with a laugh.

The world's northernmost black-nosed sheep

The couple Öhberg / Engström have long been eager to get black-nosed sheep to the farm in Hortlax.

When an acquaintance in Värmland took the trio home to Sweden and had them in quarantine for seven years, they decided to take the sheep to Piteå.

Nord, Idun and Odd are thus the world's northernmost black-nosed sheep.

- We like a little different things and challenges, says Malin Öhberg who is also in full swing to start up Sweden's northernmost hop cultivation to be able to serve local beer breweries.
