Criminals pretend to be embassies and consulates, public prosecutors, banks, border inspection departments, etc., claiming that the victim has violated the law, tricking the victim into revealing sensitive personal information such as ID number, passport number, bank account, credit card number and security code, and asking the victim Transfer money to so-called "safety accounts", "margin accounts".

Criminals are constantly renovating their criminal methods. The cost of police solving cases is high, and it is very difficult to trace the stolen money.

Do not trust suspicious people from unknown sources in phone calls, text messages, emails, and online social software, and prevent all kinds of telecommunication frauds.

  In order to help our compatriots improve their ability to identify and prevent telecom fraud, the Chinese Embassy in Japan will introduce various fraud cases one after another. Please read and understand carefully.

At the same time, the Chinese Embassy in Japan once again strongly calls for the following important reminders:

  1. The embassy and consulate strictly protect the personal information of citizens in accordance with the law, and will not ask for personal identity information through phone calls, WeChat, QQ, etc., and will not ask for transfer or remittance.

  2. The majority of compatriots are requested to be vigilant, understand the fraudulent tactics of criminals, and improve their ability to identify, prevent and respond to telecommunications fraud.

  3. Work together to build an anti-fraud network.

All compatriots are requested to pay attention to the information on the websites of the embassies and consulates and the WeChat public account, actively publicize anti-fraud knowledge, and remind relatives and friends around them to increase their awareness of anti-fraud, so that criminals have no chance to take advantage.

  Fourth, in case of fraudulent calls, please calmly judge.

Anyone who has any of the characteristics of extracting personal information in the name of embassies and consulates, threatening to lure, controlling personal freedom, and requesting remittances can be judged as fraudulent activities. Please hang up the phone immediately and ignore it.

Do not disclose personal information, let alone transfer money.
