A 2-year-old boy is between life and death after drowning in a water collection tank on Saturday afternoon.

He was at home, in Sevran (Seine-Saint-Denis), watching over his grandfather.

The latter left the room where the child was and did not find him when he returned, reports

Le Parisien

Since the little boy was still nowhere to be found, the grandfather alerted the parents.

Everyone continued to search for the child.

It was finally the grandfather who discovered the child, immersed in water and in cardiopulmonary arrest.

His condition deteriorated

A 40-minute cardiac massage was given to him by the police, who had been alerted to the disappearance.

The firefighters and the Samu then intervened and took over.

The child was able to be resuscitated before being urgently transferred to Robert-Debré hospital in Paris (19th century).

The young victim was placed in intensive care.

His condition, initially stable, deteriorated in the afternoon.

The exact circumstances of the accident remain to be determined.
