A 23-year-old man was shot dead and another seriously injured on Sunday evening in a city in Marseilles before police officers were shot during an intervention in another district.

The two men were targeted shortly after 11 p.m., when they were at the foot of a building in the city of Bricarde in the 15th arrondissement, which houses deal points.

Individuals driving in the car opened fire in their direction with an automatic weapon before fleeing, police said.

None of the police were injured

The victim, known to the police for narcotics cases, died on the spot.

The 26-year-old injured man, injured in the abdomen, was hospitalized.

His days are not in danger.

The judicial police have been seized of the investigation.

A little later that night, around 3 a.m., police officers from BAC Nord came under fire from a 22 LR rifle while responding to a call for a burglary.

The facts occurred in the Belle-de-Mai district in the 3rd arrondissement.

Several weapons found in a building

After a chase, six suspects were arrested in the apartment where the burglary was reported.

The 22 LR rifle used for the shooting was found hidden in the common areas of the building and a handgun was seized in the apartment.

The departmental security was in charge of the investigation.
