On June 6, local time, the Cuban government issued a statement criticizing the U.S. government for abusing the power of the host country, deciding in advance to exclude Cuba, Venezuela and Nicaragua from the Ninth Summit of the Americas, refusing to heed the calls for justice from numerous governments to change this discrimination. Sexual and unacceptable position, saying "no reason can justify the undemocratic and arbitrary exclusion of any country in the region from the Summit of the Americas".

The Cuban government said that, for fear of hearing the unsettling truth, in order to prevent this Summit of the Americas from considering the most pressing and complex issues in the region, and to prevent issues that touch upon its own fragile and polarized political system, the U.S. government once again opted to " exclusion”, even if a summit with “no concrete contribution” is held, the image of imperialism must be safeguarded.

The statement said that the exclusion of the United States proves that the United States wants to use this high-level dialogue mechanism as a tool for its hegemonic system in the region to limit the sovereignty and independence of countries in the region and hinder the integration and development of Latin America and the Caribbean.

The statement also emphasized that this is a manifestation of the United States' implementation of the Monroe Doctrine and the use of exclusion as a weapon of divisiveness to serve its clear political, electoral and ruling interests.

The Cuban government also noted that the United States held high-level negotiations with governments in the region ahead of the Americas summit to prevent some countries from refusing to attend the summit, involving pressure, blackmail, threats and dirty deception.

Reflecting America's traditional contempt for these countries, it should be rejected in the strongest terms.

The statement also stated that Cuba would like to express its gratitude and appreciation for the valuable, courageous and legitimate positions of many governments defending the invitation of all American countries to the Summit of the Americas on equal terms.

Cuba reiterates its support for the integration of the region based on civilized coexistence, peace, respect for diversity and solidarity in order to jointly solve the most pressing problems facing the peoples of the region.
