In dangerous terrain.

This is unfortunately not the first time that an accident has occurred in the Lille metropolis among fans of urban exploration (Urbex).

This time, it was a young man of 17 who was seriously injured when he fell through the floor of an abandoned factory in Lomme, near Lille.

The intervention of the emergency services was triggered shortly before 10 p.m. on Sunday to recover an injured person who had fallen ten meters into an industrial wasteland on rue Hegel, we learned from Sdis 59. According to the emergency services, the floor gave way under the weight of the teenager, who fell into an excavation ten meters deep.

Access to the victim particularly difficult

Firefighters specializing in interventions in dangerous environments (Grimp) descended using ropes through the hole in which the victim had fallen in order to provide him with first aid.

Another team snuck in through the lower level of the building after expanding a cavity in order to gain access to the young man.

Seriously injured, the teenager was placed on a stretcher before he could be evacuated to the hospital.

For this intervention, the Sdis mobilized a dozen vehicles and twenty men.
