“I would like to emphasize that in our country the issues of rational use of natural resources and ensuring environmental safety are among the key national priorities,” Putin said.

The Russian leader stressed that the preservation of the biodiversity of the ecosystem, as well as the quality of life and health of millions of people, largely depends on the successful resolution of environmental safety issues.

Putin also noted that certain results in this area have already been achieved.

“And of course, we will continue to contribute to solving problems related to improving the state of the environment and preventing global climate change,” the head of state concluded.

Earlier, Putin instructed the government to prepare draft decrees on measures to reduce forest fires by June 10.
