Groups of Jewish settlers stormed the courtyards of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque this morning, Sunday, in response to calls by Israeli organizations to storm Al-Aqsa Mosque on Sunday and Monday.

The Israeli occupation forces secured protection for groups of settlers during the storming process, and closed the Al-Qibli prayer hall with chains, coinciding with the settlers storming the courtyards of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Israeli organizations had called for the storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque on Sunday and Monday, in commemoration of what they call the "Descent of the Torah" festival, or "Shavuot", known as the "Weekends" festival, a week after the organization of the so-called "flags" march in occupied Jerusalem.

On the other hand, Hamas and the Palestine Scholars Association had called on the Palestinians to join the Al-Aqsa Mosque in order to thwart Israeli plans to Judaize it.

The feast of the revelation of the Torah is considered one of the three pilgrimage feasts for the Jews. It is linked to the days of the alleged temple according to the written texts of the Torah, so the Jews link it directly to the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Every year, the settlers gather in the morning of the feast of the revelation of the Torah at the Al-Buraq Wall by the thousands, and their voices rise with the Torah and the Psalms.
