Police have arrested an American man who broke into a museum and smashed expensive exhibits because he was angry with his girlfriend.

Local media, including the New York Post on the 2nd of local time, reported that Brian Hernandez (21) broke into the Dallas Museum of Art and destroyed ancient artworks worth a whopping $ 5,153,000 (about 6.4 billion won).

Hernandez used a chair to smash the windshield of the museum, then broke into the pavilion and damaged ancient artworks, including statues on display.

A warning alarm went off, and the dispatched security guards found Hernandez in the central hall, and after interrogation, he replied, "I was angry with my girlfriend and broke the artwork."

After receiving the report, the police arrived and checked the art list and found that many exhibits had already been damaged.

Greek porcelain bowls and crocodile figurines from 550 BC were completely shattered.
