Xanana said that China is crucial to the development of island countries.

Island countries and small and medium-sized countries such as Timor-Leste are all facing common development tasks. What they need is solidarity to tackle challenges, and more attention and support from the international community, as well as tangible help.

The Chinese Foreign Minister's trip to the South Pacific has sent a positive signal that China stands with developing countries and brings hope to small island countries.

Small and medium-sized countries should not be forgotten and look forward to deepening friendly cooperation with China.

It is hoped that the international community will pay more attention to the Alliance of Fragile States, and China is expected to make greater contributions to the development and revitalization of small and medium-sized countries.

Wang Yi appreciated Xianana's outstanding contributions to the development of bilateral relations and his sense of justice in correcting historical injustice, and said that as a major developing country and a responsible major country, China treats small and medium-sized countries equally is our diplomatic tradition, and safeguarding the development of China National interests are our due obligations, and it is our international responsibility to help everyone accelerate development and revitalization.

China has no intention of seeking spheres of influence, nor is it interested in engaging in any kind of geopolitical competition.

Some countries use themselves to save others, misjudgment and even smear China, but the people of all countries can see clearly that the achievements of cooperation are in front of them, and there is no market for any false words.

China has repeatedly stated that it is willing to carry out more tripartite and multi-party cooperation to form international synergy and help small and medium-sized countries to accelerate development and revitalization.

No country should be forgotten, and no region should be marginalized.

China will continue to stand firmly on the side of developing countries.

Wang Yi appreciated Xanana's advocacy for the establishment of the Fragile States Alliance, and welcomed the alliance and member countries to actively participate in global development initiatives and make joint efforts to realize the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

Xanana said that he fully agrees with a series of important initiatives put forward by President Xi Jinping, and looks forward to learning from China's successful experience, tapping the huge potential for cooperation between the two sides, and helping small and medium-sized countries such as Timor-Leste achieve independent and diversified development.
