“During the visit of Mr. Lavrov, we expect to quickly deal with various aspects of this issue, make a decision and start the process as soon as possible within the framework of a certain protocol and a memorandum of understanding,” the STAR newspaper quoted him as saying.

He added that if agreements are reached, it may take from three to five weeks to start the process of exporting grain from Ukrainian territory.

“Time is against us when we consider mine clearance, preparation of that corridor, the exit of ships.

Therefore, the sooner we start, the better,” Kalyn concluded.

Earlier, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that Lavrov would visit Ankara on June 8, where he would hold a working meeting with Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu.

The parties plan to discuss the situation in Ukraine and sanctions.

The Kremlin also reported that during the talks in Turkey, Lavrov will discuss the export of Ukrainian grain.

In addition, as Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia Mikhail Bogdanov said, the military will also be part of the delegation during Lavrov's visit to Turkey.
