According to TASS, the fire service of Greece said that the fire started at about one in the afternoon in the Ano Glyfada area.

A very strong wind contributed to the rapid spread of the fire.

“Now the fire is extinguished by 72 firefighters and 20 vehicles, three fire teams on foot, six aircraft and three helicopters, one more helicopter is coordinating,” the service said.

Help is also provided by volunteer firemen and water carriers.
