• Transfers Moreno will offer counseling to Citizens even if he does not need them to govern

  • Analysis Has Andalusia Become Right?

The pilgrim that is arrives at El Rocío, besides being tired, dirty and possessed of an almost mystical fervor, with

a promise and a request

.

The promise is the way and the prayer, most of the time, has to do with health, with one's own survival.

The three

pilgrims

who stepped on the sand of the Almonte village this Saturday were not dirty, nor were they too tired, but they did have a request and a promise and their (political) health moved each of their steps.

Juanma Moreno, Juan Espadas and Juan Marín made their particular

pilgrimage

to a pilgrimage that is bustling like never before after two years of absence due to the pandemic and in a setting as beautiful (at the gates of Doñana) as it is crowded: from just 1,700 inhabitants to

million people

and many of them potential voters.

The candidates of the PP, the PSOE and Ciudadanos said they would take off their

electoral costumes

to enter the sanctuary and pay their respects to the Virgen del Rocío, but the shadow of the ballot box in which they hope to count all the possible votes on June 19 I went with them, inseparable.

Moreno, who in two weeks is playing for a historic victory and a solo government or being a hostage of Vox, gave his visit an

institutional character

, presiding over the presentation of the brotherhoods before the Almonte Headquarters in his capacity as president of the Board.

But that did not prevent a mass bath from taking place, greeting right and left and receiving more than one, and more than two, signs of affection.

And even some

compliment

.

Pure fuel for the road, hard no matter how much the polls favor him, what remains between now and the 19th.

That the Andalusian president is also the PP's candidate made it clear -if there were any doubts- in the interview he gave to the Onda Cero radio station in the same village.

election replay

The leader of the PP-A put on his candidate's shoes to once again put on the table the possibility of a

repetition of the elections

if the results are not enough to govern alone, the request that the pilgrim Moreno could well have made yesterday to the White Dove.

From the elections, he insisted, a "viable and possible government" must come out and, translated, it means that he does not want to be left in the hands of Macarena Olona.

"I will do everything possible so that the elections are not repeated," he insisted by way of promise, although it sounded like a

warning

.

The goal that the

popular

have set themselves in this campaign is, at a minimum, to add more seats than the entire left together and that seems, according to the polls, within reach.

But it is that, in addition, it does not depend on Vox and on the demands of Macarena Olona and Santiago Abascal it has become almost an

obsession

and that is not so easy for them.

As much as he said that a formula such as the alliance to which the Castilian from León Alfonso Fernández Mañueco was forced was not in his plans “right now”, that is the

great threat

that they want to dissipate in the PP.

For this reason, Moreno shakes from time to time the ghost of electoral repetition and affirms, as he did today in El Rocío, that he does not want to waste time in an

"absurd and sterile" negotiation

.

The socialist candidate, Juan Espadas, chats with a pilgrim this Saturday in the village of El Rocío. PSOE ANDALUCÍA

Every vote counts and in a village that has become one of the most populous cities in Andalusia for a weekend, the temptation is in every pilgrim who approaches the sanctuary and in every house where the

reunion

is celebrated these days .

There is no official record of the pilgrims with whom he spoke or the houses he visited, but Juan Espadas is more than in need of voters to save him from the

disaster

that demographic studies venture for him.

The PSOE candidate went to El Rocío on a "private visit", although announced, and appeared before the Virgin with his wife, Carmen Ibanco.

He did so after regretting, hours before in Seville, that he wants to get political returns from celebrations and traditions as deeply rooted as the El Rocío pilgrimage and after also launching one of his star campaign promises: the creation of

100,000 jobs youth

if he becomes president.

The idea is very similar to

the employment plan

launched just a few days ago by the Government of Pedro Sánchez, although more ambitious.

Swords promised to invest 2,000 million euros, between public and private investment, in the four years of the legislature.

The

demobilization

of his own electorate is the great cross with which Espadas carries himself and with it he appeared yesterday in the village of Almonte.

From the slogan they have chosen for the campaign -if we vote- to the promises, everything is focused on the PSOE-A campaign to convince its usual voter to leave home on the 19th and choose the usual ballot.

In this effort they are counting on the

support of Ferraz

and the executive itself, which sends reinforcements in the form of ministers almost every day.

This Saturday it was the head of the Treasury, María Jesús Montero, who traveled to Malaga to campaign and ask to "throw all the meat on the grill" to make Swords president.

The same Espadas who at that time was walking the streets of El Rocío escorted by the staff of the Huelva PSOE, including one of his closest collaborators, María Márquez, or the mayor of the capital, Gabriel Cruz.

He did not ask for the vote, but the socialist candidate did not miss the opportunity of a greeting or a

selfie

.

The same as the head of the Ciudadanos list, Juan Marín, the third

pilgrim

in El Rocío, who also arrived with the

institutional band

and dressed as vice president of the Board.

Marín attended the presentation of the affiliated brotherhoods, such as Moreno, in the company of the president of Parliament, Marta Bosquet, walked around and lavished greetings and had time to attack Abascal, whom he accused of wanting to use Andalusia as

a "springboard"

towards La Moncloa.

“In Andalusia there are people with talent and ability and they cannot be disrespected as he does”, adding that “if he wants to present himself to the nationals, he should do so when his time comes, and here he talks about Andalusia and what he is coming to do for the Andalusians.

Regarding the Rocío pilgrimage, he stressed that "it is proceeding normally and

without any relevant incident

" "The great news is that the Romero 2022 Plan is being carried out completely normally, thanks to the collaboration of the Security Forces and Corps, the older brothers and all the brotherhoods».

"It's time to enjoy a few days of living together in the village, this brings us many memories and feelings," said Marín, who is literally risking his survival in these elections and that of his party.

It would not be unreasonable to imagine that the Ciudadanos candidate could ask the Virgen del Rocío to scratch the occasional

seat

more than the two that, for now, the polls grant him.

Who knows if he even went to the votive chapel which, a step away from the sanctuary where he took more than one

selfie

, keeps the promises and prayers of so many other pilgrims lit on the wick of

a candle

.
