These are models dating from the years 2004 to 2015 of the ML and GL SUV series, as well as the luxury R-Class minivan, according to a KBA press release dated June 1 and published in the press on Saturday evening.
"A corrosion of the brake booster can, in the worst case, cause a break in the connection between the brake pedal and the brake system," the KBA pointed out.
"The service brake may in this case stop working," she added.
The Servo-brake is a device installed in a hydraulic braking circuit which increases the force applied to the master cylinder.
A total of 993,407 vehicles are recalled worldwide, including 70,000 in Germany, according to the KBA.
