China News Service, June 4. According to foreign media reports, French President Emmanuel Macron said on June 3 local time that in the past six months, he and Russian President Vladimir Putin have accumulated about 100 hours of phone calls on the situation in Ukraine.

  In an interview with Le West de France, Macron said: "Since December (2021), I have lost count of how many times I have spoken to Putin. In total, about 100 hours."

  Macron pointed out that he never concealed his phone call with Putin and that he was in touch with Putin at the request of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

  Macron also said, "I believe that France should act as a mediator."
